Hi, Welcome to my Blog! (I copied this intro from Chua Soi Lek’s main blog page … :) … word for word.) In fact, Dr Chua inspired this blog to turn politic, in a way.
You see, this is what happened. I was messing around with a Linux-based WordPress server and decided to sign up and start blogging on Christmas day 2007. It was intended to be a private journal, pictures and matters of personal interests. Until Dr Chua came along in early January 2008, and with his VCDs!
So I blog and blog about Dr Chua. And eventually I began to blog about other politicians, political parties and the elections. And politics kind of caught up with me again and the rest in this blog, as they say, is history.
My name is Lester Chan, I’m an ethnic Chinese, born and grown up in Kuala Lumpur. I’m married, have 2 gorgeous kids and a wife who keeps nagging every day about me spending too much time on this blog thing.
Though I do not foresee myself reestablishing a foray into politics again, but I was once a member of the DAP and served as political secretary to Wee Choo Keong in the early nineties, when Wee was Member of Parliament for Bukit Bintang. Today, I’m not associated with any political parties. Period.
Despite having inclinations of being one, but I’m not a social activist and my present “role” in politics is purely observatory, nothing more.
In my free time, I’d do some photography, listen to music and occasionally play some golf. It is also safe to say I like blogging, socialising with other Netizens and just blabbing away. Blogging is a human right, if you take that away from me, I’ll fight you to the last drop.
Sometime in mid-April 2008, a Pakistan based news portal named The Pakistan Spectator sent a request to interview me in my capacity as a blogger.
I’m not an institutional Christian, but I follow Jesus.
